Topic Abstract:

"Some Secrets for Managing Your Career"

Just like rocket science, career planning consists of correctly doing many little things on the way to achieving your goal. What does it take to plan your engineering career? How many career ladders are there? What are the steps on the technical ladder? Who makes the decisions? How can you influence those decisions?

Ron Carsten has collected a number of career-planning lessons, and he will be sharing them in the context of his 34 years of Raytheon experience. His presentation will offer a number of thoughts on the benefits of broadening your technical reach, the appropriate length for an assignment, the need for proper training, and how to influence the organizational need for your talent.

WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?

Times have changed. The days of corporate uniforms and pension plans are long gone, and with them, job security. The changing dynamic of our economic environment as well as our corporate work environment demands that we take personal charge of our careers.

Come listen to some of the "secrets" for surviving in the competitive workplace and creating career satisfaction and success!
